Clean a coin is a no no, BUT....
I have been a coin collector for over 50 years. I know you should not normally clean coins. I had a few Mercury Head dimes that were covered in PAINT and Varnish. Nothing I tried cleaned the dimes. I tried Nic-A-Spray and used the brush as instructed and slowly the silver of the damaged coins reappeared. Yes, I would strongly suggest you try this product when you need to clean silver. It's works great.
