Silver Test Acid (Clear)

Fake silver coins (especially Chinese counterfeits) are being seen in increasing numbers and it's important to be able to determine in your coins are the genuine article. True coin experts can gauge if a silver coin is real just by looking at it. But if you're not quite at an expert level for detecting fake vs. real silver, a simple acid test will help solve the puzzle. The resulting color created by the interaction of the metal and the acid will tell you how much silver is actually contained in your bullion.

INSTRUCTIONS:
If the test spot turns a creamy color, it is high quality silver, usually sterling. If it turns black, it is coin quality silver. If it turns green, it has high amounts of copper and therefore is poor quality silver. And a gold color means a lot of brass and therefore is a silver plated item.

Test acids come in sturdy plastic bottles to maximize safety yet allow the user to easily squeeze out a drop at a time.
